Stolen Baskets, New Doubles League and Delayed Start of Bag Tag

Discers,

There is some majorly disappointing news in the area. There have been multiple baskets stolen from two of the Moorhead Parks in the last couple weeks. Hole #1 at Woodlawn Park and Hole #6 at Davy-Memorial-Riverfront have been stolen. It is unbelievably sad that there is a thief willing to ruin the fun of hundreds of disc golfers for their own personal gain. If you have any ideas or know of any clues about the whereabouts of the baskets, please notify the Moorhead Parks and Rec Department, the Moorhead Police, or make it known to Josh Johnson, Pete Karl, Josh Dunham, or myself so we can immediately relay the message. We are currently sick to our stomachs with this basket stealing and hope to do something about it soon.

Within the next couple days, I will be posting a letter on here that is meant to be a letter to the editor of the Fargo Forum to hopefully get the attention of the public about this situation. Writing a letter to the editor was brought up to me by Dunham and I think it is a great idea. Please voice your opinions as far as getting the word out there. I received a message from a new addition to the disc golf scene, Wayne, about offering a reward for the baskets and I think that would be a great place as well. I am chipping in on that reward for sure to get to the bottom of this.

Wayne is also starting up a new doubles league in town for all you thirsty discers out there. He will be unleashing more information soon at league nights and via online methods. I am pumped to have another disc golfer willing to put in a ton of work and get a new league going. More to come soon.

As far as bag-tag is concerned, I am falling behind on work and am putting in some crazy hours. It has also been called to my attention by the Fargo Parks and Rec that Trollwood Park will be closed to the public on 4/26. Because of these two things happening at the same time, Bag Tag will be pushed back one week and will start on  May 3rd. We will start the year at Trollwood, but will be bouncing around heavily within the first few weeks. The courses lined up to play include: Trollwood, Jeff Haberman's Course in Pelican Rapids (done on a Saturday), Hawley, Cow Pie Classic Course in Walcott (more than likely a weekend, but maybe a weekday), Oak Grove Alternates, New Woodlawn, New 18 holer by Iwen, and then perhaps a course set up at Orchard Glenn. With all of those dates, there are at least 6 weeks of activity with 2 weekends thrown in. that will take us through most of the summer (11 weeks of playing). I am sure we can figure out more in the meantime.

News is going to come more frequently as soon as work dies down and bag tag really starts flowing. The disc golf season has been here for a long time already and I feel that it is still sneaking up on me. Get your arms warmed up and your bags full of plastic, because we are going to have a good year once it gets rolling.

Cheers,

Joey

Ice Bowl 2012 -- February 18, 2010 @ Oak Grove Park

Discers,

It has been quite some time since any news has been posted here, but the time has come again to throw the plastic. Heck, it has been a great winter to throw plastic almost every day!

Josh Johnson once again is running the Ice Bowl event and has always been a great tournament director for the Ice Bowl. In the past years he has promoted both the sport of disc golf in the winter as well as fundraising thousands of dollars for the Great Plains Food Bank. He has a message for everybody that follows:

"Just wanted to make sure everyone remembers that next weekend(Feb 18th) we are doing the ice bowl.  Registration starts at about 9am till 10:30.  Tourney starts at 11.  So if you are going to bring chili this would be the time to do it. There will be a prize for the best chili.

We are going to do 1 round of all 18 holes, 2 different divisions.  It will be a Open and a Amateur.  If we want to do double after that is up to you. I am going to ask that Sidestreet to make sure a bartender is there for 2pm.

The cost is $30, the 1st 30 get a players package which include a disc, towel and mini.  Also the 3 biggest donation raisers will receive free entry into the event. This includes prizes and cash donations.

Any questions shoot me a text at 306-2816 and make sure you tell me who you are."

I think this is pretty self-explanatory and that all available should check out the event. It is going to be a great time and proceeds will be going to a great cause. Thank you again to Josh for putting this on.

Keep on discin,

Joey

June 27, 2011 -- ND State Championships Information

There are some major decisions to be made as far as ND States goes.

The first major decision that I have already made is the fact that the ND State Tournament WILL NOT be in Fargo this year. We have experienced 5+ inches of rain within the last couple weeks, causing the Red River to rise well above flood stage once again. The river has been above flood stage for almost 90 straight days and I predict it will stay there for much more than 100 days with all of the rainfall in the area.

There is just too much water in Fargo to count on a dependable course. I desperately want to have it here, because we have a large amount for fundraising and huge local support from individuals and businesses, but I will be unable to do so.

I will still be running the 2011 ND State Championships on the 6-7 of August, but the location is going to change. I will be posting up the change hopefully before the weekend, but for sure by the 5th of July.

I want to apologize for all who have time, money, and investment in the Fargo location, but it is simply not feasible to have it here. Stay tuned for the location and updates.

April 24, 2011 -- Let the Bag Tag Begin!

Do you have your arms ready?

It will be nice to see all of your ugly mugs again as the disc golf season starts to roll along. The flood is still here, the weather is abnormally cold, and there are no courses open. You know what that means....... 2011 Bag Tag is getting ready to start. Below is the scoop of what is happening for the first week of Bag Tag:

----------------------------------------------------------

The 2011 Frolfware Bag Tag League is scheduled to a shotgun start kickoff on Thursday, April 28. We will be playing a temporary layout at Island Park course in Downtown Fargo. Jon Goetz and Dewey Joyce (along with others) will be creating a 9 hole layout for us to enjoy. Please let me know if you can bring baskets.

We will be starting at 6:00. On that night tags will be distributed after the round according to round scores, then PDGA ratings if tied. Price for Bag Tag League will once again be $20. Please bring cash or check to pay. There will be no IOU's allowed.

After Thursday, April 28, bagtags will be available at Rock 30 Games. Because the participants of next Thursday's Bag Tag are actually in attendance, they get the first numbers of the season. After that, numbers will be on a first come, first serve basis at Rock 30 Games.

Hope to see you all there in the mood for some discin'. I know I am.

If you have any questions, please e-mail, call or text me (701) 367-2905.

Thanks,

Joey

April 10, 2011 -- Another Fundraiser -- Dates Set and Volunteers Needed

Dan Haslop has been given a bag of pixie dust, because he is once again working his magic. He got us another fundraiser doing the brat stands at Hornbacher's on July 15th and 16th.

It is basically the same as the Cash Wise Cookout, but just on different dates. It is crazy to get both of these in the same year. Here is the document that they sent Dan for review.

WE NEED PEOPLE! WE NEED PEOPLE! There have been exactly ZERO volunteers to help with the Cash Wise event.

I am begging you to please volunteer for this awesome opportunity. It is going to help us make a great ND States if everyone chips in. Please contact me.

Thank you,

Joey

March 16, 2011 -- New Fundraiser -- Dates Set and Volunteers Needed

It has been awhile since the last message, but here we go.

Dan Haslop has been working hard to achieve some fundraisers for the ND State Tournament. He has found a fundraiser that will only need a few hours of our time and can provide a large sum of funds in only 2 days.

I have attached the sheet detailing the event HERE.

We are very lucky to have this. There were over 500 groups to put in and a limited number of spots, but with Dan Haslop's hard work, we have an awesome fundraiser!

Here is the basic scoop:

What: Volunteering to work at a Cash Wise Cookout Stand

When: April 29th (11:00-6:00)

    and April 30th (10:00-5:00)

Duties: Selling brats and hot dogs to the general public

Who: We need 2-3 volunteers each day

What we get: 50% of what we sell those days

This is a great opportunity for the ND disc golfers to raise some funds for the ND State Tournament. Please speak up if you can volunteer those days. If you don't volunteer, I will have to come to your house.

Cheers,

Joey

February 22, 2011 -- Pizza Ranch Fundraiser Results and ND State Location

Greetings to all of you disc golfers out there. I have a couple things that I would like to relay to the disc golf community about ND States.

1. Our fundraiser went pretty well at Pizza Ranch --  We earned $143 in tips and $125 in earnings for the people that came in to eat for a total of $268 for the state tournament. While this is good news, I was disappointed in our disc golf showing. If we are going to raise some money we need to speak with action. If you don't give a rat's ass about fundraising or the tournament, then it doesn't matter. But if you are going to be participating in the tourney and want it to be the best it can possibly be, we need help.

2. Now that I am done with the blame game, I have some very good news. I met with the Cass County Commission at the Fargo Courthouse today. I was on the agenda for having Orchard Glen and Forest River approved for use during the ND State Tournament. After some questioning by the Commission and by the Sheriff's Office, we have been granted permission to use the land! Please see the pictures below to see what we have to work with. I am liking what I see.

As of now, this is going to be the location. I am going to seek out some other options, but at least we have this as a definite if other options don't come through.

Orchard Glen

Forest River

Please post any comments or questions that you have for all to see. I will post more info as it becomes available.

Also, thanks for all that came out to support the Ice Bowl. 28 brave souls came out on a beautiful day for disc. Fun was had by all. Josh Johnson did a great job for the tournament and also in raising money for a local charity (Great Plains Food Bank). Josh Dunham also deserves a round of applause for helping out.

Later,

Joey

February 10, 2011 -- Fundraiser and Other Stuff

I wanted to let everybody know how the fundraiser went last night. There were 5 volunteers last night that came in to work: Pete, Shelly, Tavia, Dan Haslop and myself. All volunteers did a bang-up job and are making the ND State Tournament better by the minute.

Thank you to all that came in or ordered pizza -- you know who who are. To all those that didn't -- you know what to do.

Just from tips alone we received $143. Within the next 10 days we will be given a check to see how many people ate at or ordered from Pizza Ranch. We receive 25% of those sales.

This was a great fundraiser for the ND State Championships. If you have any other fundraiser ideas,  please let me know. Take 30 seconds out of your day and write a comment. 30 seconds is all I am asking for an idea. Put it out there. We won't know until we try.

-- Next on the agenda is the Raffle Ticket situation

Apparently raffle tickets are not as easy to acquire as I thought they would be. There is quite a bit of paperwork to deal with and I need to do some talking and work to be able to do such a thing. If anyone has experience with this sort of thing, give me a call or send me an e-mail or write up a comment.

Regardless, we cannot sell raffle tickets more than 6 months in advance, so we could not sell them as I write this anyways. We will have to make sure everything is kosher and then go from there. Hopefully I can get it done in the next couple weeks. I will keep you all updated on this page.

Later,

Joey

January 23, 2011 -- Raffle Update

I have been doing some research raffles in ND and have come upon the following information -- Raffles can only be conducted 6 months prior to the raffle draw date.

All of the information is in line and is ready to be presented to the ND Attorney General. The only thing we can do at the moment is wait for February 14th to have the raffle tickets start being sold. We do not need to flex the rules when none of us really know the rules in the first place. I will keep you updated, but come February 14th, expect to have some raffle tickets in your hands.

Above is a sample of what the tickets may look like. However, the ND State Logo will be placed on there instead of Frolfware logos.

Cheers,

Joey

January 11, 2011 -- ND State Fundraising Opportunity

Discers,

After the meeting went well and we did some brainstorming, we have come up with some suggestions on fundraising. Today I stopped by to finalize one of the opportunities to help raise some money. Here is what it is:

On February 9th, we need to send 4 volunteers to Pizza Ranch on 45th St in Fargo from 5:00-8:00 PM.

Volunteers should wear khakis, no hats, and we will come up with something for shirts with a logo.

We are able to place a TIPS jar at the front by the cash register and receive 100% of what goes in.

Anybody that eats at Pizza Ranch that night and states they came in for disc golf automatically gives 25% of their buffet purchase price to us.

Anybody that calls in or picks up food for take-out that says they are doing it for disc golf automatically gives 25% of their check to us.

A little scenario for you -- 50 people come in and order the buffet. 5 people order take-out that is averaged out at $20 per order. 5 People have Pizza Ranch delivered to their house that is averaged out at $20 per order.

50x$9 = $450x25% = $112.50

5x$20 = $100x25% = $25

5x$20 = $100x25% = $25

$112.50+$25+$25=         $162.50 + all money in the TIP jar for the ND State Tournament

We can do this two times before the tournament, if the manager I talked to is correct. Doing something like this 2 times over 7 months would be really easy to do and a great way to find some money for the state tournament. I will be sending e-mails and texts to remind everybody when the date becomes closer.

Please let me know if you are available to volunteer that night.

Thanks,

Joey

December 6, 2010 -- New Woodlawn Layout

Everybody,

Moorhead already ordered 18 more baskets and it is going to get re-designed right away in the Spring. Woodlawn is in dire need of a new look and we are the ones going to be providing the course design.

Pete Karl has been slaving away on the re-design of Woodlawn. Together, Pete and I have walked the land at Woodlawn multiple times to see what could be done with a new course layout. The following were the points of interest in our thought process:

1. Has to be fun

2. Has to have multiple tees/baskets to accommodate all levels of players

3. Has to stay within the boundaries given by Moorhead Park Board

4. Has to use the elevation and newly acquired areas to increase variety

5. Has to include a variety of shots (awards different shots, not just hyzers)

6. Has to be safe to play and does not conflict with any paths, roads, parking lots, etc.

7. Has to increase the challenge from the existing Woodlawn at least on the new long layout

After we did some walking, and after Pete did an enormous amount of thinking, more walking and map making, there is now a LAYOUT PROVIDED HERE.

Please check it out and give some feedback. Write it in the comments, send an e-mail to Pete or me, send a text, give a call. Just do something.

Until then,

Joey

August 21, 2010 -- Tee Sign, 4x4, and Valve Box Installation

If anybody is interested in helping with the installation of signs and whatnot in Moorhead, we can go ahead and go for it this weekend. There are a few areas where digging with the gas-powered auger would not be a very good idea. However, we can install all of the valve box covers to take away the chance of more baskets being stolen. We can also install all of the 4x4's in the ground to dictate the tee-box.

If anybody would like to volunteer their services, please make it known. Also, it would be an option to take Tuesday, Bag Tag night, and put them all in while we are in a group.

Talk it up and let people know what you think.

Later,

Joey

July 15, 2010 --  Stolen Basket

     Discers,

In very unfortunate news, we have had yet another basket stolen in the F-M area. This time, the basket was stolen from Davy-Memorial Park in Moorhead. The basket stolen was #7 and is a yellow Frolfware basket like the picture above.

If you have any information leading to the whereabouts of the basket, what happened, or who it happened with, please relay the information to me and I will relay it to the proper channels. Keep your eyes peeled for the immediate and foreseeable future. If I find anything, I will let you all know right away.

Thanks,

Joey

June 14, 2010 --

Course Updates:

Trollwood's baskets are complete, thanks to Josh Dunham and Eric Pilon's help. They are going to be installed today! Fargo Parks will be receiving the delivery shortly and will be putting the baskets up shortly after that. We will be having Bag Tag there tomorrow night (weather permitting).

Last night, a whole squad of disc golfers ganged up and put in the sleeves at Davy-Memorial-Riverfront Park in Moorhead. Attendees were: Ole, Michelle, Goetz, Schmidtty, Brorby, Pilon, Dunham, and myself. I will be talking to Moorhead Parks today to see if we can have it mowed before the baskets go in. Hopefully they can mow it within the next couple days. The baskets will be installed by Wednesday if they have not mowed it, but hopefully that is not the case.

It is a great time to be an avid disc golfer in the area. Two new courses in one week isn't too bad. For the time being, the courses will have natural tee pads. However, as time goes on, the Fargo Park District and Moorhead Park District will be installing pads as they see fit, but only if there is no trouble at the courses. Please be respectful of the courses and please pick up garbage/litter if you see any to make it look better.

See you soon,

Joey

------------------------------------------

Hello Again Plastic Throwers,

Here is a little update as far as disc golf goes in the FM community. Trollwood Park in Fargo is going to be installing a course this summer. They intend on installing 18 there, which I believe is a mistake, but there will be 18 baskets nonetheless. Last year I talked about a larger plan to incorporate several more disc golf courses into the area. Jeff Haberman of the Fargo Parks has informed me that the plan for several disc golf courses is going to be pushed back at least one more year. They need to set aside money for the courses. While they are pondering, we should be making up course layouts and proposing them to the park board so they can get a preliminary idea of what disc golfers expect out of future courses in the area. We have to do it together and form a collective voice, otherwise they will not hear what we are saying. I can go in there all I want, but they listen to the masses, not just one person.

Hopefully we actually get a disc golf summer when the river goes down. The course on Davy-Riverfront-Memorial in Moorhead is scheduled to be installed this spring/summer as well, which will add some much needed variety to the course scene. We will probably only be installing 12 and a practice basket right away, with 2-6 more installed in the future.

As far as Bag Tag League goes, we will just play the weather/water situation by ear. Barnesville is high and dry if we want to go there, but it won't be for a couple more weeks. Last year we got into a nice rhythm of bringing baskets and setting up alternate courses. I would like to keep that going if we have the support. Bag Tags will be made available at Rock30 once they are made. There will be new Bag Tags for this year. I will let you know when it is all good to go. Also, you will need to get them from Rock30, not me, because that's how the system got messed up last year.

As for tournaments this year, I do not know what will be going on for me. The only one I am planning on at the moment is perhaps a ribbon-cutting like event at the new course in Moorhead. Beyond that, I do not know what will be happening. The Floodplain Open may occur, but signs are pointing to "NO" at this point. I will keep you guys posted.

If any of you want to have your opinions voiced, please do so. Comment away. Change the pages. Add pictures. Add videos. Throw plastic and text everyone you know. Whatever. We just need to get some disc golf rolling.

Later,

Joey

It doesn't look like Joey got a lot of response to his Christmas greeting, nor Mark to his proposal to do something in a parking lot. I just want both of you to know that I am interested in what you two have to say. I would be interested in helping set something up and participating with any and all indoor or outdoor disc golfing activities. I have never done it before, but I would also be interested in helping with some of the sponsorship things in January, February, March, or whenever is appropriate. Let me know what needs done in a text or email, and I will followup. When can we meet as a group to setup and schedule

As far as indoor disc golf activities, I thought about getting a gym space that was out of town. However, this idea is falling through the cracks. However, I am not giving up hope quite yet.

Relating to outdoor disc golf, I am definitely in. Hopefully some others are as well. My schedule is filling up with school and full-time work ahead, but I would be more than willing to help set something up if the ball got rolling. I will provide baskets, food, and perhaps some merchandise just for fun.

Joey Schmit said

Here are a couple of different things that I thought could work for sponsorships:
1. Pizza Ranch Fundraising -- Each week, Pizza Ranch allows a club to come into the store and bus tables. At the end of the night 15% of the profits are donated to the club that is working. I believe the night is Tuesday, which is typically a slow night, but I have seen many clubs and organizations do this with great results. I believe we would be working a 3-4 hour period in the evening. It doesn't take much for a restaurant to take in $750 in a night, which would result in about $115 for us. We only have to supply a few (4 or 5 I believe) people for working and it would be a fairly nice chunk of change. Also, the workers get free food.

2. Curb Painting -- I have thought about this idea for awhile and I think that many would be into it. Heck, I would do it for $5. I was thinking that I could make number cut outs with metal and we could go around in the spring, from house to house, asking if they would like their house number painted on their curb. It may sound stupid, but I have actually asked some people with homes about the idea and they believe it would work. I don't think it would be too tough finding 50 or 100 houses that would like their number on the curb for $5 for a local club. Critique me if you want, but I might just do it by myself if you don't believe me, and I will keep all of the millions of dollars in profit.

Joey Schmit said

3. The tried and true "get out and ask" formula. I will be in the process of making a fundraiser letter for our league as well as the Floodplain Open. I have been chipping away, but it has to be eloquently worded and a bit more concise than last years. We did a great job in 2008 for the Floodplain Open and continuing that success would be wonderful. There is nothing wrong with a little begging every once in awhile.

4. Your ideas -- please post a comment and let us know your thoughts. If you think these ideas are stupid and worthless, put it here. If you have better ideas, put it here. Please do not just read this and dismiss your thoughts. It is the best to come up with these types of things as a TEAM. Lets' do it.

Dan Haslop said

The curb painting thing sounds intesting, but I would want paint that would last a couple of years, or else I wouldn't feel like they got their $5 worth. I would definitely participate in the Pizza Ranch busing tables thing, because I love to eat pizza.

The fund raising things that I have been invovled with in the past have included:
1. Raffles

2. Coupon Book Sales, Candy Bars, Catalogue Sales, etc.

3. Running the concession stand at the FargoDome

4. Running the Brats stand in front of Hornbachers on N Broadway.

Any or all of these things can be done in addition to those that someone else comes up with. I have my doubts that we will get our own group of people to participate with Raffles or Coupon Books Sales, but the other 2 could easily be done. The FargoDome requires signing a contract that you will work in return for a percentage of the sales, and you need a team of people before you sign. The Hornbachers thing I don't know the specifics, but a call to them would make the requirements clear. Brats are only done when it is warmer weather.

5. What is the deal with CFR discs? Do you have to have a lot made before they will do it? (So the it costs to do this and you have to sell at least half before you start making a profit?)

6. What about asking people to put up a Donation jar of some sort at different businesses?

7. Silent Auction is an idea, but I am a horder and don't have anything to sell.

8. Summer car wash if we can get the gals to stand out front in bikinis to draw in the customers. Of course that will distract the male disc golfers.

9. With the playoff games and superbowl events coming up, you could have the board where someone wins per quarter, half, end of game, BUT half goes to the fund raiser purpose.

Just ideas. We can trash the ones that obviously don't fit with us.

Mark Kuhn said

Hey I don't mind busing tables, or at least I didn't when I was 14. The Fargodome thing sounds doable as well, as far as curbs, you might what to check with the city you're doing it in, some don't allow it. When... it warms up here, there are a few decent parking lots with trees and big snow mounds that could be utilized, just gotta ask the property owner(s). Also, hello... is anybody else out there, I know it's the off season, but that doesn't mean disc golf, or your game has to go into a state of atrophy, let's get active.

The inventor of the Frisbee Walter Morrison passed on today at age 90. Some discs should be thrown today in his honor, so get your baskets to a parking lot and pay homage to good old Walter.

Joey Schmit said

Dan, to answer your CFR question posted long, long ago-- CFR discs can only be ordered for a tournament and only in quantities relating to your order. If I order 500 tournament stamped discs, I can order 100 CFR discs. As you go down in number for tournament stamped discs, the number goes down for CFR discs that can be ordered. There is a large up front cost and the problem of not knowing if/when the tournament is going to happen.

Has anyone played the back nine at Rendezvous? What a challenge, nice layout, scenery, and water hazards not like the front nine at all. Would reccommend, but don't throw your top plastic into the diverson like I did.

Its kind of cool for a little niner, definatly better than the first 9. Long walk from 6 to 7, overall it's nice to have a place in the metro(barely) to play right now.

OK all you non-commenting BagTaggers out there. I haven't heard a peep from anyone after Joey sent the last posting.

It is between Christmas and Near Year's and I know all of you are stuck inside somewhere with no disc to throw, except at JohnnyG's & Mark Kuhn's house. It is time all of you look at the new Woodlawn layout and provide a few comments. Pete spent some time and effort to propose the layout. I am no expert at this stuff, but have a few comments.

I saw Joey the other day, and he clarified that the red is "Off Limits" to disc golfers, but maybe all of you knew that. He also said that the existing south parking lot either won't be there or isn't for disc golfers. Apparently the north parking lot will need to increase in size, or there will be no parking and a useless DG park.

I want to thank Pete for putting this proposal together, because it's easier to critique than to start from scratch. Another goal not mentioned would be to avoid the normal lake that appears, but the proposal seems okay for that.

My comments:
1. The proposed hole 7 has all the trees removed. Seems short and easy without this. I suggest replacing it.
2. Hole 4 could remain the same distance and angle, but simply shift northward with tees closer to walkway. Pin could end near or in the trees. It might permit another hole to replace your hole 7. Tee could be west of new 4 pin and angle toward southeast most corner inside the walkway. For this proposal, pin 9b would need to shift north some.
3. Hole 5 can have a 5b tee other side of the crook in the walkway.
4. Distance from pin 7 to tee 8 is 400+ feet. With proposed 2 comment, 8 tee could be closer to walkway, longer, and angled northwest.
5. I like a course with front & back 9. If you move tee 10 closer to walkway, then this would be a short distance to either 9.
6. Hole 13 is awkward. Propose to have 13 tee directly south of 12 pin. 13 pin to island not in red. Coiuld be 400' to 500' long.

3. I have tee 5 located to the southeast of the tree to limit the chance of any discs going towards the bike path. Having a tee further back or on the other side of the bike path might bring non-discgolfers into play.

4. I agree. The walk should be shorter. All the holes have a variance of several feet left/right, forward/back. Because of the lack of obstacles involved (at least on the south side of hole 4), holes 4 and 8 have the most leeway. The basket for hole 4 can be anywhere within a 200 foot area, same with the tee and basket for 8.

5. I like a front and back 9, and the lack of that may be a major weakness of this layout but in the current layout, if 10's teepad is moved closer to the bike path, it might interfere with basket 9b (especially if it is moved north) and 16b. The reason I left it short was to limit interference and to make it more accessible from 9a. Although the current configuration doesn't have a true front and back 9, you could easily play 10, 12, 13 and 15 hole rounds.

6. Hole 13 might be a little out of the way (and out of bounds), it is a nice little shot. A 150 anny to the river has a certain pucker factor. I'm not clear on your redirection directions.

This layout is fluid and is meant to be a starting point to a greater course. Unfortunately, it’s a little difficult to play it right now, but if anyone wants to walk through with me, let me know.

Thanks for the feedback, Dan. Allow me to comments on your comments:

1. Hole 7 is not as easy as it seems. Your teeing off into the side of the hill to a basket on the other side of the hill and about 2/3rds up the valley of where the new dike and the existing hill meet. Only the top of the basket could be seen from the tee. Rollaways are always a possibility.

2. Sounds interesting. One issue I see with the teeing off west of a new hole 4 and angling southeast would be the proximity to the basketball courts and bathrooms. I know nobody uses them now, but Moorhead is putting a lot of money into resurfacing the basketball and tennis courts and they will be pushing to make sure they are used. With the current layout, I've tried to limit any crossover with non-discgolf traffic.
